I bought clean
topsoil, so where did the Nutsedge come from?
From a weed perspective, there is no
such thing as "clean" topsoil. Whenever you bring in topsoil,
be prepared to contend with new forms of weeds.
How soon after
applying sod can I apply IMAGE?
Allow newly sodded grass to become
fully established before applying IMAGE. The amount of time depends
on maintenance, turf type and environment. Generally, wait 8 to 12
weeks before applying to new sod. This will not adversely affect the
ability of IMAGE to control actively growing weeds such as Nutsedge.
How long will
IMAGE take to control my weeds?
IMAGE controls weeds gradually and
without ugly brownout, with visible results in 3 to 4 weeks after
application. Nutsedge can be very difficult to control because of
its extensive system of underground nutlets. A second application
of IMAGE is usually required 4 to 6 weeks after the first application
for season-long control of Nutsedge.
After an application
of IMAGE, when can I plant...
Ornamentals?
You must wait 8 weeks.
Sod or plugs?
You must wait 6 weeks.
Shrubs?
You must wait 4 to 5 weeks.
Trees?
As long as the trees are about 18 inches into the ground, no
waiting is necessary.
Why has IMAGE
caused damage to my turf?
If your turfgrasses experience low
temperatures, drought stress or compaction, temporary yellowing or
browning can occur and recovery may take 2 to 4 weeks. These symptoms
are short-term and will not adversely affect the turfgrass. To minimize
or prevent these symptoms, fertilize, water and mow often to encourage
turf growth.
Why does IMAGE
cause these symptoms?
IMAGE is not necessarily the catalyst
for these symptoms. The discoloration can be attributed to a low level
of iron in the turfgrass. Application of IMAGE during periods when
the turfgrass is not actively growing and/or is under environmental
stress can also result in discoloration. This usually lasts 3 to 4
days. It is basically caused by the turf exerting energy to break
down the herbicide. During that time, energy otherwise used to produce
new shoots must be rerouted to metabolize the herbicide. Neither symptom
will adversely affect the condition of the turfgrass.

When should I
apply IMAGE CC for winter weed control?
Time your
application following the first frost and no later than 6 weeks before
the spring transition from dormancy (November through January). The
exception is Wild Onion/Garlic, which must be already showing in order
to control it. Mowing is recommended 1 to 2 weeks after application
to improve appearance and initial control.
