IMAGE Year Long Vegetation Killer Application Instructions

Where to Apply

This product is non-selective in action and destroys all types of vegetation. Apply only to areas where complete weed and grass control is desired. This product may be used in many places around your yard where you do not want anything to grow; such as driveways, gravel parking areas, walkways and paths, along fences, around buildings, and under decks. Use only on the sites listed. Coverage: 4 lb Shaker Bag treats up to 400 square feet.

When to Apply

Apply this product from late fall through early spring. Applications in the Northeast and upper Midwest should be made in early spring after the ground has thawed. Do not apply to frozen ground or over the top of snow. For prompt and effective results, rainfall or other precipitation should occur witihin a few days of application. If air temperatures are expected to rise above 70°F within one week following application, it is more imperative to immediately water-in or scratch the granules into the soil.

How to Apply

Measure area to treat with granules. FOR COMPLETE, NON-SELECTIVE WEED & GRASS CONTROL - Apply 15 to 18 oz. (3 1/3 to 4 cups) per 100 square feet. The lighter rate may be used if the weed infestation is primarily annuals. For perennial weeds and in dry soil areas the higher rate should be used. Dead weeds from previous seasons' growth do not need to be removed.
Immediately following application, thoroughly water-in granules (not to the point of puddling or run-off).

Precautions:
  • Do not apply this product in a way that will contact any person or pets, either directly or through drift.
  • Keep people and pets out of the area during application.
  • Do not apply to transplant or cutting beds or to newly set transplants.
  • Do not use on extremely light sandy soils.
  • Application is limited to once per year at a maximum rate of 18 oz. per 100 square feet.
  • Do not apply to areas on slope above lawns or susceptible crops as runoff water from treated area could cause injury.
Results

Control of existing vegetation, such as shallow-rooted grasses and annual weeds, will occur two to three weeks after application. Weeds and grasses will not grow in treated areas for one year.

When to Re-plant Area

The treated area may be totally or partially non-productive for one year, or possibly longer. Do not seed or transplant into treated areas for 24 months after application.

If you want to attempt to seed or plant before one year, you have three options:

  1. Remove the top few inches of treated soil and replace with fresh soil, or
  2. Disturb the treated area by rototilling to release the weed - killing vapor, or
  3. Add horticultural charcoal to treated area and water well to absorb the vapor.
