Summer Control vs. Winter Control
Just like most plant growth and grasses, weeds are seasonal. So it's a good thing IMAGE Kills Nutsedge is not. IMAGE is a weed killer for all seasons. Application of Image Kills Nutsedge can differ when applying it to summer weeds vs. winter weeds in the South.
Summer Weeds Include the Following:
- Grasses:
Unwanted Bahiagrass, Crabgrass, Perennial Ryegrass
- Sedges:
Purple/Yellow Nutsedge (IMAGE is the leading consumer product labeled for Nutsedge control), Green Kyllinga
- Broadleaves:
Dollarweed, Virginia Buttonweed, Violets
Treating Summer Weeds with IMAGE Kills Nutsedge:
- Apply IMAGE after the weeds have emerged.
- IMAGE should be applied following the spring "green up" but before the onset of winter dormancy.
- Use on ESTABLISHED lawns only.
- DO NOT apply IMAGE to transitional turf or during slow growth periods.
Winter Weeds Include the Following:
- Grasses:
Annual Bluegrass, Tall Fescue, Perennial Ryegrass
- Broadleaves:
Dandelion, Wild Onion and Garlic, White Clover, Henbit, Some species of Chickweed
Treating Winter Weeds with IMAGE Kills Nutsedge:
- IMAGE should be applied following the first killing frost.
- IMAGE can be applied soon after the emergence of weeds appear.
- DO NOT use IMAGE on grass species that do not go dormant in cold winter months (St. Augustinegrass).
